SO, HOW DOES IT WORK?

Cryotherapy at Beaulea Clinic uses Cryopen to safely freeze and remove unwanted skin lesions such as skin tags and cherry angiomas. This quick treatment targets the superficial skin layer, often forming a scab that heals within a couple of weeks. While generally safe, caution is advised for darker skin tones due to the risk of depigmentation.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS OF CRYOSURGERY LAST?

The results are usually permanent.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

A blister or scab may form over the treated area but this will heal within a few weeks.

DOES THE PROCEDURE HURT?

A mild stinging sensation will be felt following the treatment but this will settle quickly.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER CRYOSURGERY?

Following the treatment, it is normal to experience a residual stinging which can last for up to an hour.  After this, the area will often become a little red, swollen and sore and a blister may develop.  There may be some weeping from the wound and a scab may develop.  It is important not to pick at the wound as this may result in scarring.  As the wound heals, the skin lesion will diminish or disappear.  A follow up appointment will be made and further treatment applied if necessary.  Sometimes the original skin lesion may reappear over time and require further treatment.
